By arguing broad, popular sports subjects in a trial format for an entertaining segment anyone could enjoy.

I developed this segment for me. I do not care about sports and would tune out when they come on. But when you put entertaining and bombastic commentators arguing a case that has broad, popular interest, you can grab my attention. Give opportunities for me to thrown in my two cents with the talent highlighting and reading viewer comments, and I’m in.

The segment had sections titled: The Case, Testimony, Cross Exam, Closing, and Verdict.

Results:
Increased social media engagement and late night viewership on Friday nights when the segment aired.
Won Regional Emmy and PromaxLocal Gold.

For this campaign, I played off all the local accident attorney spots to do a little bait and switch on the viewers. Upend expectation and you GRAB their attention.

This shows the layout with a viewer comment. I'd take the profile photo of the commentor and include that. The comment animation was a mogrt I created to make the process quick and easy.

Solo gavel shot to open and close segment

"Sports Court is in session!" started each segment and "Sports Court is adjourned!" ended each one with this solo gavel shot.

The weekly topic animated on screen so everyone could tell what's the topic this week.

Fun graphic I made to help illustrate the point they were making in the Mount Rushmore topic. The faces changed as they discussed their choices.

Funny end slate for tv spot with fake "legalese"

I really enjoy certain jokes, and this "legalese" at the end of the fake lawyer spot tickled me. One of my favorite parts. I also love when spots do a surprise callback just when you think it's over.
